Installing your 3rd gen wildlife camera 

To install your new Wi-Fi enabled wildlife camera, follow these simple steps: 

Choose your camera - Take a look at our entire range of 3rd gen wildlife cameras, and pick the one that’s best for your needs. For example, if you’re a keen birder, our bird-box camera kits may be the best choice for you. Here at Green Feathers, we have something for everyone!

Test the camera - When your camera arrives, make sure it’s working when you take it out of the box! If you’re struggling to connect it at home, why not try our set-up service, or give our email support options a try? 

Position your camera - Depending on the camera you choose, you may need to drill a small hole in the bird box or hedgehog house to install it. Make sure you’re putting it in the right place, and watch for any wires!

Screw on the mount - Our 3rd gen wildlife cameras come with mounts, so you can screw the camera in the right place in the home habitat. Check on the app - make sure your camera is giving you a good view of any feathered or furry friends!

Hide any exposed cables - Our Wi-Fi wildlife cameras don’t have as many exposed cables as other wired camera types, but still make sure that there aren’t any exposed cables - you don’t want any birds to mistake it for a tasty worm snack!

How to remove and clean the camera from a wildlife habitat

Keeping a wildlife camera clean is one of the best things you can do for any wildlife visitors. Here’s how to do it: 

Check the habitat - Make sure there are no visitors camping out in your home habitat - you don’t want to spook or accidentally hurt them!

Unplug everything - Although our Wi-Fi wildlife cameras don’t have as many wires involved, it’s still essential that you unplug everything, so the camera isn’t damaged!

Unscrew the mount - Carefully unscrew the camera mount from the home habitat - take your time, you don’t want to damage the habitat or the camera!

Remove the camera - Once this is all complete, you can safely take out the wildlife camera, ready for maintenance (such as recharging) or cleaning the camera. 

Once your wildlife camera is fully removed from the habitat, you can then start cleaning it to keep your habitat safe for visitors!

Make sure it’s all switched off - Once you have removed your camera, make sure that everything is completely off and unplugged. 

Clean gently - Using a mild antibacterial solution on a cloth, wipe round the wildlife camera - make sure you don’t use any harsh chemicals that could help any feathered or furry friends!

Wipe dry and reconnect - You’re good to go - once it’s all completely dry, you can plug your camera back in and start your wildlife watch again!
