Its clever hollow ball centre column lets you angle the column freely rather than being restricted to straight up-and-down movement. Combined with independently adjustable legs, this makes it easier to level your camera on sloping woodland paths, rocky ground or uneven garden surfaces, so you can spend less time fiddling with your setup and more time watching for wildlife.

The centre column can also be removed and reversed, giving you the option to position your camera upside down for those really low viewpoints. Add the included short centre column and you can get even closer to ground level while spreading the tripod legs wide for extra stability, which is ideal for photographing insects, frogs, small mammals or wildlife moving through grass and undergrowth.
