ARX Pine Marten Box

Developed from a tried-and-tested design pioneered by the Vincent Wildlife Trust, this Pine Marten den is part of our Premium Ecology Range and is suitable for both resting and breeding. Designed with the needs of pine martens in mind, the structure is lightweight yet robust, ensuring internal integrity without excessive bulk.

Pine martens are highly sensitive to sound and temperature. The fully timber-lined inner box provides excellent insulation and reduces sound transfer, offering a warm, quiet environment that supports natural behaviour and comfort.

Access for inspection or servicing is simple: the front panel can be lowered by removing two bolts at the base, allowing it to slide down without disturbing the inner den structure. This ensures that nesting material remains undisturbed during checks.

A durable, woodland green recycled farm plastic sheet covers the roof, offering protection from rain and acting as a suitable surface for scat deposition—an important monitoring indicator for conservationists.

The box is secured using wire or rope threaded through pre-drilled holes in the vertical spacer batons and fastened around the supporting tree or pole. These vertical batons also help minimise sway in high winds, maintaining stability.

For best results, install the box approximately 4 metres above ground level on a suitably sized tree or pole.
