The robin nester was developed using TV naturalist and wildlife cameraman Simon King's expert knowledge. The purpose behind the design is to fit the preferences of Robins. They prefer an open-style nest box, but also have a good level of concealment from possible predators.
This nester is also suitable for other bird species such as wagtails and spotted flycatchers which also have a preference for an open-fronted style nester.
